They narrowly overcame Kuusysi in the first round but came close to eliminating eventual champions Juventus in the second round. Prior to the season, PSG signed a partnership with Nike as their new kit manufacturer, marking the beginning of a new era. Additionally, promising talent Daniel Bravo joined the club, becoming a key player in PSG's successful period during the 1990s. However, the season also saw the departure of Jean-Marc Pilorget, who bid farewell after 14years and a club record 435appearances.
