The brand was founded in 1910 in Wilmslow as Humphreys Brothers Clothing. In 1924, the name was changed to Umbro, as an abbreviation of the previous name Humphrey Brothers. The first football shirt was designed for Manchester City in 1934, in this shirt they won the FA Cup that same year. Another sporting success was achieved by the English football team at the 1966 World Cup, in Umbro's shirt they captured the World Cup for the first time. Incidentally, all the participating countries' kits were supplied by Umbro during that tournament, with one exception. This beautiful Umbro shirt is from the early 1990s. On 23 October 2007, it was announced that Nike was acquiring the brand for 408 million euros. This deal was finalised in early 2008.
